P5 enjoyed a practical activity to deepen their understanding of area. After learning to calculate area by counting squares, they moved on to using the length × width formula for the first time. Using LEGO boards, pupils created their own rectangles and squares, then measured and calculated the area. This hands‑on task helped them understand how the formula builds on what they already know.
